  • Star anise gets its name from its distinctive star-shaped appearance. Each fruit consists of 6-8 pointed, elongated pods arranged in a star-like formation. The pods are woody and brown.Star anise trees require a warm, tropical climate to thrive. Star anise trees produce small, greenish-yellow flowers that grow in clusters. These flowers develop into star-shaped fruits over several months.Once fully dried, the fruits are sorted to remove any impurities and to ensure uniform quality.
